ANIMATE IT!
Film is a language spoken all over the world. A unique combination of
words , pictures, movement and sound, introducing great possibilities of
communication.
New techniques have made the language of film available to everyone,
offering new tools and expressions, espessialy for schools. Let students
convey their thoughts, ideas and knowledge through animated films.
Explore film from the first syllable. Seize the thought. Animate it!
Erling Ericsson is an animator and TV producer. He has been working with
children and young people for over twenty years, teaching them to make
animated film, and developing a pedagogical model for filmmaking, wich
has spread all over the world.
The workshop.
In order to introduce animation i education in Albania, I propose a
three days workshop with training of trainers, trainers working with
children and the third day, an open workshop where trainers and children
present there work for invited people like teachers, educators and
anyone interested in animation in education.
Day 1.
A group of people interested in animation. Old inoff to be trainers in
workshops with children. Not more than 5-8 people.
During this one day workshop the trainers will follow the same method as
they will be using next day in a workshop with children.
The method contains 4 steps. 1. The storybord. 2. Artwork (picture
materials to your story) 3. Animation. 4. Soundmaking to your film.
Day 2.
With equippment (animationboxes brought by Erling) the trainers will do
a workshop with a group of children ( not more than 20 at the age of
9-14 years of age.) based on the method step 1 to 4.
Day 3.
We will introduce the idéa of connecting animation to education by
having visitors. Teachers, educators, parents, journalists, anyone
interested in animation in education to take part and see what the
trainers and the children have achieved
All the workshops will be held from 10 to 4 every day.
I propose that we bring children from lokal schools and places, as well
as the trainers.
Next step is to introduce Animators Clubs in Albania, where young people
can try animation. Become trainers if they like, and do workshops for
organizations like Save the Children, SOS Childrens Villages, Unicef and
others.
The project "Animate it on Western Balkans" is based on support from the
Swedish Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
